The latest episode of Listen In invites you into the room and shares our recent conversation with Neil Macdonald. After six years of hard work, Neil Macdonald’s book ELSEWHERE is hot off the presses and on our shelves. Neil’s creation chronicles the story of UK skateboarding from 1987 to 2002, a tale which is told by the voices of the people who were there. Needless to say, making this incredible labour of love has a story of its own. We spoke to Neil to find out what went into getting this over the finish line in a comprehensive interview that covers a lot of ground, and includes a good chunk of Slam-related reminiscing. Listen In: Jahmir Brown

The latest episode of “Listen In" is a conversation with Jahmir Brown. We connected with one of Philadelphia’s favourite sons via our “First & Last” interview format. Leaning on this series of questions, we were able to hone in on key moments in Jahmir’s story and discuss their significance. We were also able to speak about his current reality days after he cut the ribbon for the newly reopened MUNI, a space dedicated to skateboarding, with the blessing of the city. Jahmir now calls London his home, but the conversation takes place with him in Southwest Philly, where the story begins.

Having recently welcomed Piet’s beautifully curated brand to our rails, we wanted to honour this moment in time by bringing you some insights into the artist behind it and how it came into being. Beyond delving into the story of Piet’s artwork, which is over two decades deep, we wanted to shine a light on the years before that, which he dedicated exclusively to skateboarding. The latest addition to our Listen In series is the perfect follow-up to our Mike Carroll episode. We connected with Jacob Rosenberg for a “Visuals” interview, exploring his formative years in the early nineties via some inspiration that wasn’t necessarily the action in front of his own lens. We were drawn to this specific time period thanks to Jacob’s new book “Epicenter,” which focuses on the time he spent at Embarcadero, an experience that stemmed from capturing Mike Carroll for the first two Plan B videos. Jacob’s contributions to skateboarding helped shape its evolution, and we’re pleased to be able to share this conversation with you.

Listen In: Mike Carroll

Step behind the scenes of our blog editorial with the latest addition to our Listen In audio series. When Mike Carroll stopped by the shop last summer, we connected at the meet-and-greet event and arranged to speak before the end of the year. We landed on a “First & Last” interview format, and used this structure to explore his many decades in the game: his storied past beginning in the early days of San Francisco visitation and Embarcadero localisation through to his busy present, where he is just as dedicated to contributing to and supporting our culture. It was an honour to speak to one of streetskating's true pioneers, and we’re happy to share the results with you here.

Our Listen In series continues with a conversation between Jacob Sawyer and independent filmmaker Jude Harrison. We are proud to have hosted the busy London premiere for Jude’s excellent new video “Dayrate”.
